Hannah insists on eating sushi every time we're in Liberty. It's her favorite food. We typically start with edamame and move on to sharing three sushi rolls between the two of us. She now has advanced into eating more than I do.
Bailey went to state this last Monday and Tuesday and far exceeded my expectations as a coach. The entire experience was really intimidating for me, having not gone before. It was definitely nonstop golf for three days. Bailey's short game was better than it had been all year, and I was an overjoyed prideful coach walking with her in the rain. Joe joined us for her first day, and that made Bailey feel more special than anything else. Last night was my first night of being at home instead of on a golf course, and I'm already coming up with a to do list for next golf season. What a great first year coaching experience! I couldn't be more excited to take Miss Bailey to Springfield to the state golf tournament. I haven't hung out in Springfield since my college days and I'm hoping all of my favorite old college food establishments. My pallet has evolved a bit, so I'm not sure that the Canton Inn will be quite as delicious as it was when I was scraping quarters off of the floorboard of my car to pay for lunch.
Although I've missed a ton of school with my fabulous students, two more days will be worth it to see Bailey's work pay off. We're looking at three days of solid golf from Sunday to Tuesday of this week. The weather looks like it will cooperate, so everything should be fabulous! I made my family do the zoo run. Actually... it was a four mile walk that benefited the King Penguins. It took me a while to convey the idea behind a race. You know, there's a beginning. You get to the end. It's a race. Including all the times that Charlie and Hannah sat, looked at hippos and tigers, and stopped to get band-aids for picked scabs, we finished in a solid and respectable one hour and forty-five minutes. After further reflection, they never did grasp the concept of a race.
